{Style} Coral Crush...

I've been super uninspired by my wardrobe lately, especially when it comes to marrying my desire for vibrant spring colours and prints with the fact that I still have a couple months of weather-related despair in my future... Le sigh. I tried perking myself up by concocting a medley of florals and polka dots — heck, I even threw in a pop of coral for good measure — but no dice. Looks like only time, or some unseasonal heat wave, can cure what ails me.

You can't really tell from these pictures, but shortly before these photos were taken I maimed myself making breakfast. It was like a tsunami-sized wave of scalding oil coming right at my unsuspecting hand... Not fun. But after Mr. AiF took me off pancake duty and kissed it better, I felt good as new. And speaking of new, how cute is this H&M clutch? It was a Valentine's day surprise from my mister, and I couldn't love it (or him!) more... Happy Tuesday, friends! xx

If you ask me, weekend wear should exclusively consist of oversized denim shirts piled with heaps of accessories. Simple, relaxed separates paired with a statement necklace and a great watch are all I need to get through the weekend — Well, that, and maybe a little Netfix-filled cuddle session... Wink wink.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great please that I present to you my very first denim on denim experience... Thank you, thank you. Now I know this is nothing new to many of you — and probably a source of contention to many more of you — but I am now officially on board the Canadian tuxedo express. I don't know what took me so long, but I'm feeling this look and in a big way. I guess you can take the Canadian girl out of her mixed denims, but you can't take said denims out of the Canadian girl... Or something like that. xx

There's no easier way to play with layers than with a simple blazer and neutral tights... Once you've got those down, the rest is a cinch. Looking back at this outfit, I would have liked to incorporate a patterned sweater to up the layering ante, but there's no use dwelling on that now... Dang you, hindsight. xx

In the dead of winter, a little floral print can do wonders for morale...  Take it from me, with over a month of snow under my belt, nothing cheers me up quite like some peppy pants. That, and cheesecake. And ice cream.  Ooooh, and pretty much all carbs. Luckily for you guys this isn't a food blog... Although Adventures in Gluttony kinda has a nice ring to it, no?

If details are the spice of life, then this little DVF clutch is the spiciest of them all... Hubba hubba. I bought this back in NYC because it was the prettiest clutch I had ever seen — I mean come on, just look at it! That colour, that style, those hot lips... Man I'm in love. And do you know how I celebrated that love? You guessed it my friends, with sugar and sweet, sweet caffeine... Let's just say I know how to show a clutch a good time. xx

{Style} The Basics...

In a season filled with falling leaves, cheerful holidays and pumpkin-flavoured everything, you know what makes me happiest of all come September? Tights. And the more I have to choose from — be it colour, texture or both — the better. Grey is my tight colour du jour, mainly because it was the first pair I could find before rushing off to work, but also because it makes for a surprisingly versatile basic... Move over boring black hosiery; there's a new tight in town.

I never really thought of myself as a camo girl, but then I had to go and surprise myself... I don't know if it's the fit or the fact that the shoulders on my new Zara jacket are bejewelled (sorry, my hair's in the way), but I'm a newfound devotee to the trend. It doesn't take much to convince me apparently.

Fleeting Moments...

Just when I thought summer was on it's way, the weather had to go and throw me a curveball... I had gotten used to leaving my coat at home and everything! Curses... Well at least I have these fair-weathered reminders of what's to come, right? Right. So load me up with linens, pastels and boater hats galore, because I'm counting down to when I can finally wear them again! xx

Baby Blues...

Hello lovelies! How is everyone today? I was super thrilled when the lovely people at Ella+Cathy offered to send me a top to style... How sweet is that? And speaking of sweet, here it is.

I love the colour, cinched waist and frilly details that make this tank undeniably girly, yet at the same time, super versatile. Before deciding on this particular look, I experimented by pairing it with everything from jeans to skirts and back, and believe me when I tell you that it pretty much looks good with everything. Not bad for one little tank, huh?

To offset its femininity, I decided to pair my new top with tweed shorts, a denim vest and black accessories for an edgier, more urban look. What do you guys think? I can't wait to incorporate it into more looks and see how much milage I can get out of it... Long live the remix!
