Want to know the best part of my weekend? I'll give you a hint: It rhymes with coral tint beans... You guessed it my friends, it was finding these amazing floral print jeans at Joe Fresh! Man, you guys are too smart for me.

They certainly weren't what I was looking for (my Superstore jaunt was supposed to be all business), but when I saw them hanging there with only one last pair in my size, I knew it was meant to be. And just in time for another generous helping of snow... Well I guess you can't win them all, now can you? xx

Cropped...

I'm kinda a big fan of crop tops, especially when they hail from decades past... Nothing beats an original (sorry, American Apparel), so scouring the racks of my local Value Village becomes something of an olympic sport where crop tops are concerned. This one was a prized-find last summer, when I scooped it up for only a couple of dollars in Victoria. And with the weather being as lovely as it currently is, I couldn't think of a better item to thrown on with shorts... Let the sun shine. xx

Hello, Dottie!

I love a good polka dot dress as much as the next girl, so you can imagine how delighted I was to get the Hello Dottie polka dot dress from Lulus.com a little while ago... It's just so light and spring-ready, with the cutest little cut-out detailing by the neckline. All in all, it was love at first sight... Thanks, Lulus!

Long Live Mullet Clothing...

So you know how I told you that I'm coo coo for mullet-inspired clothing this season? Well I wasn't kidding... In fact, I'm loving asymmetrical hemlines so much that I wrote a little article about it for the Edmonton Journal in last weekend's Style section... Check it out! xx

Anchors Aweigh!

I've always had a thing for nautical motifs, so when the nice people at eShakti offered to send me a piece from their spring line, I just couldn't resist this dress... The colourful chains and anchors really spoke to me, and the print was unlike anything I had seen before. So in the spirit of trying new things, I paired the dress with a belt and a striped blazer to add some contrast and, well, more nautical charm... Because really, what are stripes if not nautical — am I right?

Daisy Duke...

How Daisy Duked-out am I in this outfit? Not exactly a go-to look for me, but since the weather was so nice that day it just felt right... Kinda like the sunshine brought out my alter ego or something. Go figure.

Spring Fling...

There's just something about throwing on a bright, "check out my bad self" kind of outfit to pick yourself up on a on a blah day... And in my case, I spared no expense in achieved said brightness. From florals and a neon necklace, all the way to my burn-your-retinas bright dress, this outfit is anything but boring... After all, nobody likes a blah-ger.

Hang Tough...

Who out there remembers (or if you're like me, still loves) the New Kids on the Block? Well if the early 90s in all their brightly coloured, geometric patterned, over-the-top glory rings any bells, you might see the link between my dress and the golden age of NKOTB... Or perhaps it brings a little Zach Morris to mind? Either way, this print is unabashedly early 90s and I couldn't love it more... What can I say, its got the right stuff.

Falling For Fuchsia...

There's nothing like a vibrant colour to elevate an otherwise dull ensemble to new heights... At least that's what I would like to think is going on here. I had been wearing this cotton H&M dress around the house all day, feeling uber gross-n-grubby, when Mr. AIF suggested we take advantage of the "golden hour" and snap some photos... I grumbled in agreement, threw a blazer over what had quickly become my house dress (think house coat), and slicked my ratty, I've-been-home-all-day-and-couldn't-bother hair. This, my friends, is the end result... Aren't I a sight for sore eyes? In case you weren't sure, that was a giant hashtag sarcasm.

Wardrobe Wednesday...

There's something magical about having a goal, setting out to achieve it, and finally succeeding... Especially when such goals are fashion-related. Now I don't know about you, but somehow when I actually want something, I never seem to be able to find it. Sad but true. That's why I was pleasantly surprised to find a pair of wedges that fit my criteria (cute and comfy) that were- get this- actually on sale... Can you believe my luck? I barely can... xx
