{Valentine's Week} The Pants...

As I write this, I'm slowly coming down from a sugar-induced Valentine's day high (you don't even want to know how many macarons I've had today!), where lethargy and writers block are apparently the main side effects. Mr. AiF surprised me with some special treats, bubbly and a homecooked meal, and now I'm crashing... hard. So with that said, it's time to wrap this thing up, people!

Thanks for baring with me through all this (V-Day isn't for the faint of heart, after all), and I hope you guys have enjoyed reading these silly little posts as much as I have had creating them... Until next time, love bugs! xx

{Style} The Streets...

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm beat from yesterday's festivities... My family knows how to get down, so we didn't get to bed until 2 am last night — Can you say party animal wannabes? I think I'll be paying the price in the under eye region today as I travel to Vancouver to see Mr. AiF's fam-jam... What can I say, it was worth it.

Happy Boxing Day, friendlies! If you're brave enough to hit up the malls today, I want to hear all about your scores! xx

{Style} Lost & Found...

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

After weeks of procrastination and dread at the very thought of it, I'm proud to report that my closet is  finally organized. That's right my friends, it's nothing but neat and tidy as far as the eye can see. The process was cathartic and ripe with discovery— take this skirt for instance. I bought it last year and only wore it twice before it found itself trapped behind a stack of tops and miscellanea, never again to see the light of day until this very moment. Liberating. Unfortunately for me (and the skirt) it's only a matter of time before my closet avalanches out of control again, but let's just enjoy the moment, shall we?

Happy Monday, friends! Hope everyone had a fab weekend... xx

{Style} Leather + Leopard...

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Baby it's cold outside, but I refuse to bust out the parka and winter boots just yet... Call me crazy, but there's no way I'm giving in to the upcoming harsh weather without a fight. Come hell or frozen blue extremities, I'm going to wear what I want, even if it means improvising with a giant (and admittedly super warm) sweater. Hey, I do what I can. xx

{Copy Cat} Alexa Chung

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

I've admired Alexa Chung's style for quite some time now because, let's face it, the girl has a way with clothes. It doesn't hurt that she's tiny and gorgeous to the point where even a ratty old potato sack would look good on her, but I digress. Reflecting on what makes here style so iconic and enduringly chic, I think it all comes down to effortlessness and accessibility, and to prove it (at least the accessibility part), I pulled items from my existing wardrobe to mimic Alexa's style. Even though my version is nowhere near as spectacular as hers, I had a lot of fun recreating her look with items I already had in my closet... And if I can mimic her style with little-to-no effort, you can too.

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! xx

{Style} The Basics...

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

In a season filled with falling leaves, cheerful holidays and pumpkin-flavoured everything, you know what makes me happiest of all come September? Tights. And the more I have to choose from — be it colour, texture or both — the better. Grey is my tight colour du jour, mainly because it was the first pair I could find before rushing off to work, but also because it makes for a surprisingly versatile basic... Move over boring black hosiery; there's a new tight in town.

{Style} Pink Panther

A good leather jacket (or faux, if you're a better vegetarian than I am) is integral to any wardrobe, but it's also one of the hardest pieces to come by. I've literally searched for "the one" where leather jackets are concerned for years, only to find it now. Sometimes you just know the minute you see a piece that it was made for you; it's like time suddenly slows down and Gary Wright starts crooning "Dream Weaver" in your ear... Come on, you know what I'm talking about.

Happy Friday, lovebugs! xx
