{Style} The Legend of Ron Burgundy...

Alright, you've got me — this post has nothing to do with Anchorman. Regardless, I just couldn't resist the title. Ron or no Ron, burgundy is pretty legendary, no? It's one of my go-to shades of the season, and, well, let's just say that it plays nicely with other neutrals... What a colour. I would go so far as to say that I love it almost as much as I love — to quote one of the brightest minds of cinematic history — lamp. xx

{Valentine's Week} The Pants...

As I write this, I'm slowly coming down from a sugar-induced Valentine's day high (you don't even want to know how many macarons I've had today!), where lethargy and writers block are apparently the main side effects. Mr. AiF surprised me with some special treats, bubbly and a homecooked meal, and now I'm crashing... hard. So with that said, it's time to wrap this thing up, people!

{Style} Leather Detailing...

Faux leather is totally my jam, so any opportunity to double up — say in a nice shorts/blazer combo — is fine by me. Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but it's just, well, the greatest. The best part? This whole leather detailing trend makes doubling up more subtle/chic, less Peg Bundy... And I think we can all agree that that's a good thing. xx

When a scarf simply won't do, sometimes you need something a little more akin to a blanket wrapped around those shoulders... Enter my Urban Outfitters plaid cape. I bought it last fall, and on particularly cold days, it gets to come out of closet hibernation and resume its rightful place — Strewn around my neck in jumbo scarf form. Oooh yeah. xx

Gold pleats, and chain motifs, and houndstooth accents — Oh my! There's a lot going on in this outfit, but I wouldn't have it any other way... And hey, while we're at it why not throw in a pop of red? Now we're talking.

Clothing and jewelry aside, there's something to be said about a good, basic bag, am I right? A black, compartment-packed cross body can make life oh-so easy, and this Nella Bella number does just that. It has removable pieces so you can wear it as a bag or clutch, upping its multifunctional factor... Now that's my kind of bag.

Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm beat from yesterday's festivities... My family knows how to get down, so we didn't get to bed until 2 am last night — Can you say party animal wannabes? I think I'll be paying the price in the under eye region today as I travel to Vancouver to see Mr. AiF's fam-jam... What can I say, it was worth it.

Well my friends, it's Christmas Eve and I have an overwhelming urge to recite the lyrics to that adorably annoying Three Chipmunks song for you all... Luckily for you I know better than to do that, but I can't make any promises about Feliz Navidad — what, it's super catchy.

In other news, I'm totally obsessed with my new necklace from Sira & Mara USA, faux leather skirts from the past (remember this post?) and avoiding snow like the plague... Now that I'm back home for the holidays (and snow free, thank you very much) all that icky white stuff is but a distant memory. In a week's time, however, I'll be miserably braving the elements for outfit photos once again like in this post... Man, I don't know about you but I'm cold just looking at it!

Anyway, hope you guys have a nice, relaxing day no matter what you get up to, and in preparation for tomorrow, "I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart." Hey, I warned you.

{Christmas Week} Merry Making...

Ho-ho-how excited are you guys for another theme week?! Can you guess what it is? Well if the presents, baubles and gigantic bows didn't give it away (or, let's face it, the title of this post), let me help you out— it's Christmas week, y'all!

To kick things off, my homegirl Kastles and I wanted to spread some yuletide cheer with a festive little shoot... And although we froze our buns off and dealt with many a strange look along the way (two dudes actually stopped to laugh and take pics of us), it was totally worth it. In the dead of winter, a little floral print can do wonders for morale...  Take it from me, with over a month of snow under my belt, nothing cheers me up quite like some peppy pants. That, and cheesecake. And ice cream.  Ooooh, and pretty much all carbs. Luckily for you guys this isn't a food blog... Although Adventures in Gluttony kinda has a nice ring to it, no?
