{Details} Casual Club...

Now don't judge, but every now and then I feel compelled to bring my vintage Club Monaco sweatshirt out of hibernation. I don't know what it is about that old, familiar logo and its circle-engulfed crest, but I love it. Maybe it's because these sweatshirts saw me through my childhood (that, and pacifier jewelry) making them steeped with nostalgia, or the fact that every crush I ever had ages eight through 10 sported these bad boys too. Shrug. Whatever it is, the CM sweatshirt is alive and well in my heart and on the blog today... I'm sorry and you're welcome. xx

{Style} Hearted Girl...

A couple weeks ago I saw a pic of a heart sweater on my friend Kassie's blog and thought to myself, "Man, that's one cute sweater; I wish I had something like that to wear." About 30 seconds later I realized that I had a nearly identical sweater already in my wardrobe (last seen here) and that the only reasonable explanation for my memory lapse is that I hoard clothes like a mo-fo. Hey, what do ya do.

In other news, I'd like to draw your attention to my lips in this post... Notice anything different? You guessed it friends, I am sans red lipstick here. Not something I plan on making a habit of, but a fun little change nonetheless.

{Style} Rain Man...

Rainy days don't have to be all doom and gloom, especially when there are fun accessories to brighten up your mood. Now that I'm "shopping my closet" instead of actually shopping (read this for details), I've been having a lot of fun rediscovering old favourites. Take this scarf for instance; It was a thoughtful gift from one of my besties (thanks Jen!), but somehow I had forgotten all about it... Not hard when you typically buy more stuff than you can keep track of, but I digress. Anyway, the bright colours and paisley prints arranged throughout the scarf added extra oomph to my otherwise dull outfit, and as an added bonus, I got to bust out my snazzy, never before worn rainboots... The takeaway? If you take a few minutes to inject a little colour and pizazz to an everyday outfit, you might just be pleased with the results... Take that, rain!

{Style} The Many Shades of Brown...

Sometimes a girl just wants to throw caution to the wind and drape herself in deep, delicious shades of brown... Be it a nod to a new season or a departure from more commonly worn colours, brown is super stylin', especially when channeling that mom-meets-grannie-chic vibe we all know and love. Unfortunately the only anecdotal proof I have of this comes from myself, but hey, I'm as good a source as any right? Just smile and nod my friends, smile and nod...

Oh and in other news, I just realized that maybe I shouldn't write posts when I'm completely and utterly sleep deprived... Note to self.

Lost and Found...

So as you may have heard through the Twittersphere, I've been distraught this past week thinking I had lost my Arty Oval. I realized last Saturday that I hadn't worn it in a while, and after searching high and low, came up empty handed. Now I know what you may be thinking, "losing a ring isn't that big a deal Vickie," but to me, arty is so much more than just a ring. It represents months and months of longing to own one, as well as a huge surprise from Mr. AIF one magical Christmas morning... Without a doubt, Arty is my most prized possession, and the thought of losing it broke my heart.

Now before you go and get all sympathetic on me, I have good news, my friends: I found it!!! Apparently Arty got tucked away into a kitchen cupboard without my knowledge... because really, why wouldn't you put a ring there? Anyway, I'm just glad to have my hand-candy back, safe and sound... And from here on out, I pledge to never leave it unattended in a kitchen again.
