wardrobe wednesday...

For this week's edition of wardrobe wednesday, I thought I would show you my all-time favourite gloves... It is, after all, still winter here!

I actually bought these for my mom a couple of Christmases ago, but they were too tight and the store was sold out of larger sizes (how convenient), so I just ended up keeping them-- is that terrible? Anyway, they're super soft and nearly elbow length, making them my go-to for dressier occasions... plus the colour is unreal! The soft teal stands out yet somehow goes with everything-- it's a win-win.

Edmonton Spring Classic

I had the pleasure of briefly attending the Edmonton Spring Classic on Friday, a fabulous event that showcased eight local designers and a few of their best pieces in an intimate and interactive setting... Namely, a stage free mingle-fest between designers, models and fashion lovers alike! So basically, an ideal Friday night.

The event was set at the Treasury, a swanky downtown vodka bar that proved to be the perfect backdrop for Edmonton's fashion set to congregate. Live music, tasty treats and some serious fashion eye candy ensued, making my short time at the event bitter sweet... I so wish I could have stayed longer! Alas, I had to pick my mom up from the airport (super happy about the visit, sad about the timing) before the real fun started... Basically, a live photo shoot and a designer show-down judged by the audience. *sigh*

I did, however, manage to enjoy a nice glass of wine, snap a few quick shots (emphasis on few), and chat with a couple of the designers and their models... Oh, and I got to meet a fellow fashion blogger!

And as you may have gauged from last week's sneak peak of my outfit, here's what I wore to the event... Seriously, Forever 21 may as well have sponsored me because I'm pretty much sporting them head to toe. Go figure...

Oh I'm sorry, did I forget to mention there was a red carpet entrance? Amazingness... Let's just hope that the Edmonton Spring Classic becomes an annual event.

Today's edition of Sunday spotlight goes out to the lovely and incredibly artistic Karin of Wunderlust. This girl has the most amazing collection of photos I've ever seen-- in fact, looking through her blog feels like looking at an issue of Vogue. Her photo are so well planned and executed, expertly employing props and backgrounds to compliment her clothes... move over, Grace Coddington! Oh Karin, I heart you so...

Happy Thursday, lovelies! Is everyone gearing up for the weekend? I know I am! In fact, I'm attending a little fashion party tomorrow night that I'm pretty stoked about (you can read a preview I wrote about it here)... Naturally I needed a little something new to wear, so I dashed over to Forever 21 last night to see what I could find. I love how you can always count on F21! Anyway, here's a little peak at my purchases... More photos to come! xx

Introducing...

Hi lovelies! I've had so much fun doing "Sunday Spotlight" each week that I thought it was time to introduce another weekly feature on AIF... let's face it, we're all slaves to fashion here, so I thought it would be fun to show you an item from my wardrobe each Wednesday. It might be an article of clothing, a fabulous accessory, or even a shoe, but if it's in my closet it's fair game...

For its inaugural post, Wardrobe Wednesday kicks off with one of my favourite items, a vintage fur coat. I bought this over the holidays at Value Village because it was so lovely and dear... I love old things, especially items that remind me of darling old ladies (are you starting to understand my Golden Girls obsession now?). Anyway, because I never really have occasion to wear this, I thought it deserved to be seen in some way, even if just on the blogosphere...
